MSG Brings Home the ACEC Outstanding Small Project Award

Big news for a great project! Our Road 17C Bridge over the Miami & Erie Canal has been named Outstanding Small Project in the ACEC Ohio 2017 Engineering Excellence Awards competition. The Road 17C Bridge in Florida, Ohio, was designed for the office of the Henry County Engineer. Our MSG transportation team incorporated the historical importance of the canal system into the design of the bridge, designed the structure to be installed using Accelerated Bridge Construction, and addressed complex hydraulic considerations on the project. Celebrating the Black Swamp Conservancy’s Blue Grass & Green Acres Event

MSG was a proud sponsor of the Black Swamp Conservancy’s 6th Annual Blue Grass & Green Acres celebration, which was held at the Carranor Hunt and Polo Club in Perrysburg, Ohio. The event helps to support land conservation efforts in northwest Ohio. ProMedica Wins Greater Ohio Sustainable Development Award

  Congratulations to our valued Client, ProMedica for winning the Greater Ohio Sustainable Development Award for its downtown Toledo headquarters project. The award recognizes an entity in the private sector that has demonstrated a commitment to and excellence in existing communities and strengthening local economies. ProMedica is a nonprofit health system serving NW Ohio that will move its headquarters to downtown Toledo in the summer of 2017, bringing 1,000 jobs and $60M investment.

Scott Quesenberry Named New Shareholder

We are pleased to announce Scott Quesenberry, Vice President of Ohio Construction, as a new shareholder in the ownership group of MSG. Scott joined MSG last year and has more than 28 years of experience in construction inspection and materials testing for transportation projects. In his position, Scott works directly with ODOT, other transportation authorities and prequalified consulting firms to align the strengths of each MSG inspector with the needs of our clients and the work to be performed. Silver Sponsor of UA's Concrete Canoe Team

MSG-Cleveland was a Silver sponsor for the University of Akron’s Concrete Canoe Team. The Civil Engineering students involved in the competition cast this year’s canoe, The Wright Way.  Once cured, the canoe will be sanded and finished for entry in the Ohio Valley Student Conference Regional competition in the spring. Evaluation criteria include technical approach, innovative design and aesthetic aspects. Racing against teams from Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania, the UA team hopes to advance to the ASCE National competition in June. The annual competition provides the opportunity to gain hands-on, practical experience and leadership skills as well as build awareness of the versatility and durability of concrete as a construction...

Celebrating Engineers Week Girl Day - “I became an engineer so that I could cultivate my love for creativity, and I chose civil engineering so that I could improve our local landscape. Engineers for a Day in Maumee

We had lots of excitement in Maumee as we welcomed future engineers to our office, as part of our Engineers Week Celebration. Students from Swanton and Clay High School are competing to design a freeway corridor between two cities. In addition to the roadway, each design team also needs to accommodate environmental impacts and endangered species habitats along the project route.

Nick Savage Named Young Engineer of the Year

Congratulations to our Nick Savage, EI, named 2017 Young Engineer of the Year by the Toledo Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE). Nick joined MSG in 2012 and is an integral member of our transportation structural engineering group and our construction inspection group. For the past four years, Nick has enjoyed participating in MSG’s Engineer for a Day program working with area high school students interested in the engineering profession. A graduate of Trine University with a BS in Civil Engineering, Nick is a Trustee with TSPE and a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers.
