Toledo, Ohio Area
Information Systems Specialist
Candidate should have 2 to 5 years of experience with VM Ware, switches, routers and configuration. Windows 7 or XP experience and administration experience is also preferred.
Bridge/Structural Engineer
MSG is looking for an experienced engineer in the design and detailed plan preparation of steel and concrete bridges (reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete), retaining wall design, hydrologic and hydraulic studies involved in bridge design, and miscellaneous structural design. The candidate must be a PE with strong leadership, interpersonality and communication skills (oral and written) and will work from our Maumee office. Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience is required in ODOT Bridge Design (prequalification a plus) and the use of AASHTO, AISC, PCI, ACI and other related design codes. Additional experience should include bridge inspection and load rating, hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, and miscellaneous geotechnical design. Familiarity with the use of AutoCAD and/or Microstation, BARS, Merlin-DASH, STAAD, LEAP Bridge Software, HEC-RAS, MathCAD, and Microsoft based programs is a plus. Additionally, experience with project task management, QA/QC, scheduling, and proposal preparation is also a plus.
Landfill Engineer
Candidate should be a degreed engineer with experience in landfill design, permitting and construction oversight. This position would include completing landfill permit-to-install applications, construction plan and specification preparation, and construction quality assurance certification. Candidate must have a working knowledge of the OAC regulations. Geotechnical engineering experience a plus, including the preparation of various geotechnical reports.
Geologist/Environmental Scientist
Candidate should have a BS or MS in Geology/Hydrogeology, Environmental Science or related science and preferably have a minimum of five years of environmental-related consulting experience, including soil and groundwater sample plan development, analytical data review, technical report writing, interpretation of environmental regulations and documentation of field activities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Ecological Scientist
MSG is looking for an experienced ecological scientist who is capable of performing surface water delineations, ecological surveys, mitigation monitoring and Clean Water Act permitting. Experience and training in performing ecological surveys, wetland delineations and waterway permits for ODOT projects is also preferred. A Bachelors degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years experience is required.

Civil Site Design Engineer
Candidates should have experience in and be familiar with all aspects of site/civil design including; 3D-grading, utility design, roadway design, hydrology and hydraulic design with associated modeling. Experience preferred using drawing software including, AutoCad with Land Desktop and Civil 3D. Experience with other software including HY-8, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Excel, Hydroflow, Flowmaster, Culvertmaster, TR-55 and WaterCAD is also preferred. EI registration is required.
Detroit, Michigan Area
Architectural Historian
MSG is seeking a qualified architectural historian meeting the requirements of 36 CFR Part 61 for the position of Historic District Commission (HDC) staff, a contracted position with the City of Detroit's Planning & Development Department. Applicants must hold a master's degree in historic preservation or closely related field.
The responsibilities of the job include: permit application reviews in locally designated historic districts with residents, contractors or other city staff; fieldwork to identify compliance with the Detroit historic district ordinance; demolition by neglect monitoring; and monthly commission meetings. Applicants must be able to meet deadlines, write technical reports with architectural descriptions, review work specifications and apply the Secretary of the Interior Standards for Rehabilitation, prepare monthly reports, and perform data entry and project tracking. Preferred candidates will be familiar with Microsoft programs, Adobe Acrobat, digital photography and photo software, and will have a working knowledge of the Section 106 process.
