Toledo, Ohio Area
Environmental Scientist
Candidate should be a degreed Engineer or Geologist/Hydrogeologist and will serve as a Project Manager/lead Environmental Scientist. Candidate should have extensive experience completing/managing Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, environmental monitoring programs at waste disposal facilities, and remediation projects. Experience with Ohio’s Voluntary Action Program, risk assessment, and groundwater modeling preferred. Certifications such as PE, CPG, Ohio VAP-CP, or BUSTR-CUSTI considered a plus.
Landfill Engineer
Candidate should be a degreed engineer with extensive experience in landfill design, permitting and construction oversight. This position would include completing landfill permit-to-install drawings, construction plan and specification preparation, and construction quality assurance monitoring and certification. This position will also be responsible for coordinating work between Project Managers and engineering staff. Candidate should also have a working knowledge of the OAC regulations. Geotechnical engineering experience a plus, including developing subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs, geotechnical analyses including bearing capacity, settlement and slope stability, and the preparation of various geotechnical reports.
Principal Investigator/Archaeologist
MSG’s current project backlog includes a major Phase III data recovery project in Northwest Ohio, scheduled to begin in April 2008. We are looking for a Principal Investigator/Archaeologist whose duties will include developing research design and testing methods; providing project setup and logistical planning; preparing proposals/budgets; writing and editing technical reports; directing archaeological surveys; and contributing to artifact analysis.
Candidate must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s professional qualification standards for archaeology. Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field required, 5 years archaeological consulting and supervisory experience in a Section 106 compliance context preferred. Business development experience is highly desirable. Must have proficiency with MS Word and Excel and have excellent communication skills. Historic archaeology experience and artifact analysis a plus. Midwest and/or Great Lake archaeologist preferred. Office location negotiable.
Transportation Engineer
Candidate must have 5 years production focused experience in roadway and highway design engineering and plan preparation, including geometric design, pavement design, drainage design/hydraulic analysis, and maintenance of traffic design, signing & pavement marking. Experience with design policies, standards and specifications of ODOT, FHWA and AASHTO required. MDOT experience a plus. Knowledge of Microstation and Geopak preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
Cleveland, Ohio Area
Detroit, Michigan Area
Geologist
Candidate should have a BS or MS in Geology/Hydrogeology, Engineering or related science and should have a min. of 2 yrs of environmental related field experience, including soil and groundwater sample collection and processing, remedial system operation and maintenance and field activity documentation. Knowledge of general construction practices helpful. Collecting accurate and precise field activity documentation is required. Must also be willing to travel during the week to job sites throughout MI, possess excellent communication skills and have a valid driver's license. New hires must pass a company-paid physical.
MDOT Project Engineer
Candidate should have demonstrated experience in engineering oversight of MDOT roadway construction projects. This position has total responsibility for construction as it relates to quality control, material verification, schedule, budget and progress modifications. Duties include management interface with MDOT, local agencies, contractor and engineer and directing senior inspectors and assigned office staff on assigned projects. PE with credible knowledge of MDOT construction protocols, excellent communication skills and a willingness to travel during the week to job sites (as needed) throughout SE MI a must. Optional Monroe office location.
Sr. Field Technician
Candidate should have demonstrated experience in roadway construction field activities with the overall responsibility that the project is built to specs. Duties include leading on-site inspectors and material testers; completion and submission of daily reports; verification of materials; coordinating efforts between contractor, engineer and owner; overseeing and verifying material change request process. Strong MDOT construction background, previous Fieldbook exp., willingness to travel during the week to job sites throughout SE MI, and excellent communication skills are desired. Optional Monroe office location.
