MSG Names Steve Bergman as New Shareholder

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) has named Vice President, Steven R. Bergman, PE, as a shareholder to the ownership group of MSG, effective January 1, 2016. Bergman serves as Director of MSG's Ohio Transportation Group and has more than 30 years of experience in the engineering industry.

In his position, Bergman is responsible for strategic planning, business development and operations leadership for transportation projects throughout Ohio. Previously employed by an international engineering firm, Bergman has been responsible for the design and management of numerous major projects for the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). He has also served as a transportation engineer with the Federal Highway Administration and ODOT District 2.

In announcing Bergman as a new shareholder, MSG President and CEO, Richard F. Bertz, PE, PS, noted Bergman's background and proven record of accomplishment in growing and sustaining a major transportation practice. "Steve has demonstrated excellence in his technical skills, business acumen and belief in our corporate Mission, Vison and Core Values," said Bertz. "Most importantly, the present shareholders and Board of Directors believe he will be a key driver of our future success as a company and as a good corporate citizen."

Bergman is active in the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Ohio, where he previously served as President and now serves as the Transportation Committee Chair, Alternate National Director and PAC Committee member. He is also active in the Boy Scouts of American Hopkins District Committee (Cincinnati) and Rett Syndrome Foundation. Bergman earned his MSCE degree from Villanova University and his BSCE from Ohio Northern University. He currently lives in Cincinnati with his wife, Tracy and their children.
